FP 2003 Can't add a shadow to an image

I have inserted an image into FP2003. I select the image
and on the Drawing tool bar the Shadow Style icon is
greyed out.

What next?

The Drawing Tools on work on Images created with WordArt, and then generate VML Graphics / code with
really on display well in IE on the PC.

Correction:

Add the shadow to your image in a image editing application.

The Drawing Tools only work on Images created with WordArt, and then they generate VML Graphics /
code which really only displays well in a IE browser on a PC.
