FP 2002

We have just re-published our very large website to a new server.
Our disk based copy when viewed in the browser works perfectly.
After publishing, we cannot get the navigation to appear or function on the
home page. The shared borders etc are OK and we are experienced FP users.

Why doesnt't FP publish up the navigation?

Our main company website is down and we can't fix it.

I have been reading earlier posts and see that FP adjusts the title page.
I see that my home page is titled default.htm (maybe as a requirement of our
old server) and I suspect that on the new server it should be index.htm
Can I just re-name my home page or is there a way that I can replace it with
a new page called index.htm?

The name is adjusted to whatever is required by your server. If you host
your own site then you or your admin/tech person would probably know what
this is supposed to be; if you host remotely (with an outside ISP/host
external to your company) then they'd set it to whatever they
required...When FP publishes, it changes the name of the index page to
whatever the server is set to accept.

Yes
Find out from your host the file name required for the home page and then rename your local copy home page filename w/ that name
before you publish
