FP 2002 - BOOKMARK PROBLEM

T

Thomas A. Rowe

wp,

Ok. I was only able to duplicate this issue the first time I tried this today under FP2002. Since
then it has work like it is suppose to work, which is what you are seeing. Steve was also able
duplicate this as well, I don't know if is now working correctly for him as well.

Yes, but I don't know if it will solve Stuart's problem. He's got something else going on ther
and I can't see it.

I follow the work flow below exactly, same result -- when trying to link from Hyperlink box to bookmarked image, message "There Are No Bookmarks In This Document.

HOWEVER, when I type in the page + bookmark, it works

If you wish to see what I'm trying to via above workflow
1) www.lostworldsinc.com/TrojanHorsehideLeatherMotorcycleJacketClothing.htm >
Bookmark: NOS CROWN ZIPPE
linked from
1) www.lostworldsinc.com/BucoJ22HorsehideLeatherMotorcycleJacket.ht
Text: Highlighted words "NOS Crown Zipper
CUSTOM BUCO J22: Double-sided Vintage Burgundy Wool Lining; NOS Crown Zipper; Double Epaulet Bars

P.S. OS: X
FP200
Windows Office XP Pro. 200

Incidentally, recently installed Office XP Pro 2003 -- never had this problem when XP 2002 Office on computer. Connection?

Change your bookmark name in
http://www.lostworldsinc.com/TrojanHorsehideLeatherMotorcycleJacketClothing.htm
from
<a name="NOS CROWN ZIPPER">
to
<a name="NOS_CROWN_ZIPPER">

And then change your link to it to be the same

That will prevent your bookmark links from becoming
http://www.lostworldsinc.com/TrojanHorsehideLeatherMotorcycleJacketClothing.htm#NOS CROWN ZIPPER

PS
remove the / from the bookmark (HORSEHIDE/COWHIDE Comparisons)
- illegal html

Thank you. Now can anyone figure out why I can't access bookmarks from hyperlink box, continually getting error message, but CAN construct working link if I type in bookmark location in target addres
box. Again, only system change since error observed change from XP Office 2002 to XP Office 2003 Professional

Baffled.

In HTML View change the following:

<img border="0" src="images/TrojanMotorcycleJacket.Elkhide.3.jpg" alt="Flight Motorcycle Leather
Jackets Horsehide Safari Hunting Clothing Vintage Cowboy Shirts Copyright 2004 LOST WORLDS INC."
width="650" height="488"></a></p>

When I do this the entire image disappears. Is the HTML correct you've given here? I've retyped exactly and double-checked.

Further, what's the reason you recommend this change?

I notice in going over my site that bookmarks made before I changed from Office 2002 XP to Office 2003 XP Pro still show up in the hyperlink box, but not after 2003 XP Pro. Coincidence?

Stuart,

What I indicated was a fix for FP2002 when bookmarking an image, and if the bookmark doesn't appear,
since that was the subject of your post. However, after the first time I did this under FP2002, the
bookmark function has worked correctly, I no longer need to switch to HTML view.

When I did the same thing under FP2003, the bookmark was applied correctly, and there was not need
to switch to code view.

You might try running detect and repair to get in synk with xp
I would also recalculate hyperlinks

Thanks, did both. No change.

Bookmarks work within target pages if I type in address/name. Book mark tab, however, always "There are no bookmarks in this document." Older bookmarks identified by Bookmark tab. Newer ones (made after switch to XP Office Pro 2003) get error message although the Bookmarks exist.
