Found A Lot Of Spyware

P

Paul L.

1) I have little over 100 files with 28 threats total found but that just
depends on what spyware it found. for example messenger plus! could have
over 100 files if you have installed a bunch of plugins.

2) Do you mean the number under Mem Usage in the Windows Task Manager? I
don't know any software that could reach anywhere near 512MB under normal
working condition but that doesn't mean it won't slow down your computer
while working. There are other factors like CPU usage and hard drive usage
that will slow down the computer. I think hard drive usage is the primary
factor with any "scan" software since it has to crawl through all files on
your harddrive.

Well, Microsoft AntiSpyware has found 6,506 and counting spyware files
infected on my computer. I notice that the program uses a little bit
of memory (11 MBs), yet my computer is slow during scans, I have 512
MBs installed.
Aborting the scanning process is also a problem, I wanted to abort
the scan so I can get back to work and I would resume later tonight
when I'm gone to bed but it won't let me.

If I would have that many spyware reports on my computer, I wouldn't worry
about the time the scan took, nor would I worry about work needed to be done
on that computer. I would not even dream of typing any work related word on
such a computer untill it was cleaned.
Do you have any idea what spyware can do to you and your work when you are
using a computer whith so many reported spyware items ?

I don't believe it's possible to have that much spyware and still be
running. I don't think this guy's real.

I can tell you it's very possible and not all that
unusual. In spyware removal help forums we see the
evidence of it.

6,000 items?

Well I suppose a lot may be like bonzi.ico, but considering im on a PC with
3/4 a GB of RAM, at full development set up running 5 or 6 servers
constantly, almost every service imaginable I have a grand total (max) of 71
processes in 720 threads. Should even a 10th of those files be executable,
or true 'spyware' I very much doubt that your computer would successfully
boot up.

Most likely you are thinking of things like registery settings, none
executable code etc - Running 6,000 pieces of spyware at once would be nay
on impossible.

What in the world??? How can you have 6506 spyware
files? I too installed the beta and it found zero...
that's 0... nil... zilch.

If people were more careful, the people who write spyware
would be out of business.

What scares me is that he has his own little corner in
cyberspace. How can you have a webpage and not know
enough about protecting yourself from that many spyware?

His cyberspace realestate should be revoked!
