THIS IS A RANT

At boot up system says there is a problem with a drive. It checks it.
Scandisk or whatever. No fix and can't find the file myself. FAT problem
maybe, I don't know. The system won't fix it and won't ignore it and I can't
find a fix.

I have seen this before with corrupted file systems and the only fix seems
to be reformat. This is unacceptable.
The wizards and gurus at Micro$oft should be able to handle this.

Are there any takers out there with a good solution?

Craig;
Go to the hard drive manufacturers website and get their hard drive
diagnostics to verify the integrity of the hard drive.
Otherwise open case, reseat all cables and cards.
Swap out and reseat memory.
If you had the same issue before, it is a good chance it is a hardware
issue.
