Forms -- Tabulating Votes

I set up a form w/ boxes that can be checked off. I need to send this form
out throughout my department. when the forms get returned to me, is there a
way to count the responses for each category that's checked off without
having to go through each and every email?

It really depends on how you designed the form. You may need to write code.
