Forms - Checkboxes

Would anyone be able to tell me how I remove a checkbox that is sat between 2
cells?
I am not sure if this is a known a bug or I am pressing the wrong thing?
The checkbox doesn't appear to be active as I can't click on it.

Unfortunatley I have tried but I am unable to click on the checkbox?
 
If the checkboxes are from the control toolbox toolbar.

Show that control toolbox toolbar (under View|Toolbars)

There's a "design mode" icon that you can click on.

Now select the checkbox and hit the delete button

Hit that "design mode" button to turn it off.

Or make sure that your worksheet isn't protected (tools|Protection|Unprotect
sheet)???
