Hi,
Basically, what I would like to do, is wipe out my
computer and reinstall Windows XP.

Is this called Formatting? This was a suggestion for
whatI should do. Now, to do this, would I do an advanced
install using my XP Home CD? (Apparently this doesn't
totally wipe out all info.

I have done a little reading, and I was wondering if one
would format their C-Drive. If one was to format their C-
drive, would I then be able to use my XP disk to install
XP.

I would like to try formatting (or is it reformatting),
but have never done this before. I just don't want to
run into any complications, and then not know what to do.

Is there anyone within this group who would be willing to
give me detailed, step by step instructions on how to do
this. If so, could you email me directly with the steps.
Much appreciated,
Tammi

Hi

Why do you want to reformat and reinstall XP? Your problem could be answered here in these news groups. A reformat/reinstall of XP is the last option to consider after all other solutions have been eliminated.

Hi,

Because things are running very slow and sluggish, and it
would be nice to know how to perform this task if I do go
that route.
Thanks, Tammi

sounds like you want to do a system recovery to me. i do
one each year whether i need it or not. it cleans all the
junk i collect all year and puts pep back into my puters
step. i presume you have your system recovery cd's when
