formatting the hard drive

I currently am running Windows ME and want to install an
OEM version of Windows XP Home Edition Ver. 2002 onto my
computer. Setup won't run with ME on there and I seem
unable to re-format the HD free of ME allowing for a clean
install. who can help?

OEM version's will have to be install by booting from the cd and doing a
clean install.
XP cd's have all the tools to partition, format and install the operating
system.
