Formatting Text boxes in ADP

Hi I am new to using Access Data Projects as have always used mdb in
the past.

Can someone tell me why the bound fields from SQL do not display the
selected format unless I set the control source to =cdbl([Field]). the
field is Decimal on SQL serrver?
