Formatting Sony memory stick??

I successfully downloaded pics from my Sony camera's memory stick, and deleted
all the picture files from the memory stick like I always do.

Problem is that the camera now gives me a format error. I reformatted the stick
with my PC both as fat and fat32, but neither work. I don't think it is the
hardware since the camera wrote to the stick yesterday. What am I doing wrong?
Please help.

Hi ! My Canon camera manual says to format the card or stick in the camera
and NOT with the PC. Check with Sony or read the manual. Hope this helps.
 
Thanks, formatting in camera worked. Once again newsgroups save me from reading
a manual.
