Windows XP Formatting Problem

I Have Dell Desktop(dell Dimension 8300) Running On Win Xp And Has Been Attacked By Virus ,and Would Like To Format It.apparently It Is Telling Me That The Hard Disks Has Not Been Installed,what Might Be The Problem And How To Go About It.it Have Two Sata Hard Disks.

Are you using a Windows XP disk, also is you Hard Drive Sata as this is a problem with Windows XP that it does not have sata drivers built in you need to go to the makers website either hard drive or mother board and download sata drviers to a floppy and when the Windows xp screen appres press f6 and then select the sata drive.
