Formatting hard drive 4 putting win98se over xp

Hi I need to format my hard drive. I have windows xp home
edition and i need to put win 98 se on the computer.
Does anyone know how to do this? I have windows98 se boot
disk and windows 98 se cd is this all i need? I have no
xp Cds it came installed in the computer the company
never gave me a cd. thanks, Mike.

if you format and don't have the XP CD , you will not be
able to install XP again. I would not go back to the old
windows 98se.!!
You can start your PC with the boot disk and at the
command prompt type: "Format C:"
Everything will be erased, so make backups of personal
files.
The file system has to be FAT32 because win98 does not
work on the NTFS system (just in case your present XP
version runs on NTFS)

Remove the boot disk and load the win98 CD...reboot and
the installation should start automatically.
You might need to install some drivers for modem and other
hardware after the new installation
