Formatting external hard drive with Win2k

Guest

When I try to format a 300GB external hard drive with Win2k Pro (SP4),
formatting fails. I get an error message stating that the drive is too big
(this happens whether I access the format command from the File menu or from
Computer Management/Storage/Disk Management in the Control Panel.) How
should I proceed to format this drive?

Try this:

Start/run/regedit
select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
navigate to system/services/atapi/parameters or
system/currentcontrolset/services/atapi/parameters
right click for new
Select Dword name it EnableBigLba (take note of case)
set value to 1
end regedit
reboot
