Formatting citations

Hi,
I am new to Word 2007 and am trying to figure out how to use the
Citation/Bibliography tool. I am a student, and need to have my references
structured in a set way, using the Turabian format.

The first time I make a reference I need to give all the information
(Author, Publisher, year, page number), and then for subsequent references I
need only refer to the name and page number. When I click "Insert citation"
it only ever puts the Author's name and the date in brackets. Do you know how
I can get it to give me all the information automatically, without putting it
in brackets, perhaps even having it only give all the information for the
first reference??? I tried searching on Google but didn't find anything
helpful.

IE:
Footnote 1:
1. Jonathan B. Slack, Book Title In Italics (Christchurch: Some
publishing company, 2009), 102.

Footnote 2:
2. Slack, 108.

Bibliography:
Slack, Jonathan B. Book Title In Italics. Christchurch: Some publishing
company, 2009.

Thank you for your help!

Sorry, but the people who designed the Citation/Bibliography system
have never had to write a term paper, or a scholarly article, in their
life, and have no idea how these things are actually used. There is no
way to automatically make a footnote, or to make a citation in the
form "Smith (1987) describes ..." or to order the bibliography in
Chicago author-date style according to author and date. (Even with APA
style, which does put the date after the author, it doesn't order them
by author and date, but by author and title.)

The Chicago style included with Word is not a footnote style. This
means, it's not the style used by the humanities. At the moment,
Microsoft does not offer any implementation for a humanities style.

That said, a while back I made an attempt at such a style at
http://www.codeplex.com/bibliography/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=20331
.. See the usage section at http://www.codeplex.com/bibliography/Wiki/View.aspx?title=Styles
for more information on where to put the style. Be sure to read the
release notes on how to use the short version of a citation.

Note that the style is still in beta so I'm not sure if it will be
much of a help.
