Formatting C:/ Drive

How can I reformat my C Drive. Everything I've tried
within the XP Sys. Fails to allow me to perform this
function. Help!

Assuming that you want to reinstall XP cleanly, just boot from
the XP CD and follow the prompts.

Hi Jim,

Why do you want to do this? To format the system drive, you need to boot
from the WinXP CD and do it as part of a new installation. This, of course,
results in the loss of all data currently on the drive.

You can't format a drive while your using it.
If you want to format and reinstall xp:
1 - boot to xp cd follow instructions
or
2 - Boot to a win9x floppy boot disk, run Fdisk, delete partitions, create
new partitions, reboot to boot disk again, run format, (or reboot to xp cd,
format, install xp). Get boot disk here: www.bootdisk.com

If you want to format a drive or partition that does not have xp on it:
right click my computer, manage, disk management, right click drive, format.

Dangerous information for the not fully informed. If you fdisk/delete
partitions you may erase data that you don't want to lose.

Just a heads up.
