formatted pc, now floppy doesnt work

I installed WIndows XP by first formatting my laptop.
Now all th efeatures i had before wiht my laptop don;t
work namely my floppy drive; i can't access it! ANybody
have an Idea WHY and HOW I can fix this???
 
Does it showup in MyComputer? If so, rt click MyComputer>select
Prop>Hardware>Device Manager.
See if both Floppy Disk Drives and Floppy Disk Controllers showup. If any
yellow marks, rt click on them
and choose Uninstall. Restart and let XP reinstall them.
