I want to format my virtual C: drive. It has win98se on
it and uses 10gb of my 60gb hdd. My problem is that it
shows as "system" under "Status" in disk management. Does
this mean I cant format this virtual drive? I want to
format and delete the virtual partition so I have one
complete 60gb hdd.

Much love.

To get rid of the virtual partition without reformatting the entire drive
and reinstalling everything, you need third-party software, such as
Partition Magic. You can use this excellent program on a 30-day trial basis.
