format options for .txt files

Hi,

I'm trying to do a work around for my email signature within a contact manager program. I can attach a signature file as a .txt file, which I create in Word, but I'm trying to do some things with bold and color that don't seem to be saving.

My question: What formatting options do I have with .txt files? How can I set up the .txt so that I have these options/are they available? The program doesn't recognize Word docs unfortunately.

- Bold?
- Italics?
- Fonts other than Arial?
- Colors other than black?

I'm using Word/Office 2000. Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Of course they don't save. Font attributes such as colour and bold are not
applicable to txt files. If you want such attributes then you'll need to
work in html and for that your application must be capable of using it.

thanks for confirming...unfortunately, Maximizer doesn't support html except in the large enterprise version. I was hoping there would be some "work around" I could do.
