copying .txt files

I have 2 .txt files and one has DRM protection. I'm trying to get the
non-DRM file to be exactly like the DRM file. If I copy & paste the CONTENTS
from the DRM file to the non-DRM it still is not exact since the application
doesn't recognize the file. However, if I copy & paste the FILE then it
works.
Why is that?

probably because the DRM protection includes a HASH code or something
similar of the original file's content.

In any case: this has nothing to do with MSFT Word, so you better check
out a newsgroup out there (in the comp.text.* hierarchy maybe?).
