Format has changed in new doc Word 2003

[Deloresw]

When I open a new document, the paragraph sign is at the top left of the
page. This just started a couple of weeks ago. The only way I can correct it
is I click on View, Headers and Footers, and Close. This always corrects it,
but it is very annoying. Before I started doing the above, I checked the
"Page Setup" and everything is at the normal settings.

Can someone please tell me how to correct this?

Thanks! I will try that! Do you have any idea why this has just started
happening? I have been using Word for many, many, years and have never seen
this.

There is simply a new setting to hide headers and footers in Print Layout
