format hard drive with xp

Jim,

Do you want to erase everything that's on your current hard drive and
reinstall Windows? Do you have a new hard drive that you installed that you
would like to be able to use?

Just boot from the Windows XP CD and follow the prompts for a
clean installation. It will do the reformat for you.
