Hi and thanks for the help. I am using PowerPoint 2003.

In Word there is a feature with font that allows for text effects like
shimmer and sparkle text.

I thought I saw that in PowerPoint as well but now I can't find it. What can
I put text effects on in PowerPoint and how?

: )

SheriTingle,
No such thing in PPT. Not much text effects available in Format - Font.
Should improve with the next version PPT 2007.

One way is that you can add animations onto the textbox so that it will
animate during the slide show. To do so, click Slide Show > Custom Animation.
Select the textbox you want to animate, click Add effect > Emphasis >
Shimmer.
Take note though, this animates the entire textbox and not a particular word.
You can also double click on the shimmer effect, then select timing tab.
From there, you can set the number of repeats you want.
