clues from the location of the file as a possible pointer to exactly which
program is producing the file. The file's date and time can also help if you
know which programs you were running when the file was written."
Hence, it's doubtful we'd know what program created the file, much less
whether Word can handle it. If you have the source application in which the
VCS file was created, see if you can File-->Export or File-->Save as to
something more ... um ... popular.
