Format C drive

Guest

I am running Windows XP home edition and want to re-install my computer. I
have created a Windows Startup disk and thought it would be as simple as
starting up my computer with the startup disk and then formating the c:drive.
However, the format command is not recognized.

I tried using my OEM supplied recovery disk to restor factory settings but
it did nothing.

Any ideas?

A recovery CD doesn't work that way period. Read the manual or go to the PC
makers website for help.

Try google search for 'ultimate boot CD linux'. It's a liveCD version
and it's free. Once you downloaded the iso, brun a copy with iso burning
software, if you not alreadt got one, there are few free one online.

The next step: insert your ultimate boot linux CD, follow the simple
easy to follow instruction, you could wipe '0' ( complete erase all
trail of winXP ), format the HD, partition, etc....

Last step: reboot you PC and insert your winXP CD, you got a fresh,
clean install without previous trail that may stall your effort...
