Form with sub-form, both visible in design view

I haven't been able to create a form/sub-form, both visible. Must be doing
something wrong.

Is there more than one way to do this? Or is there only one way that does
what I want?

Well, you certainly are; that should be perfectly straightforward.

I can think of three or four ways to put a Subform control onto a mainform.
Which version of Access are you using, and how are you creating the subform?

I'm using Access 2003. I created a form for the 'master' table. That
simultaneously created the related sub-form but it was a white space.

How did you create the form? What specific steps did you take? If you open the
form in design view, does it have a Subform control on it? Can you select the
form within that control? If so, what is its Recordsource property?

Try using the Autoform feature to create a very simple form based on *JUST*
the parent table.

Then do the same with the child table.

Then drag the child table form onto the parent table form in design view. Set
the Master/Child Link Fields to the primary key of the parent table and the
corresponding foreign key of the child table, if Access doesn't do so for you
automatically.
