Form Webbot - Multiple Addresses?

W

Whit

Hi - I use FP2000 to maintain a few websites. In the past, I've used cgi
scripts provided by the host for delivering inquiry forms to an email
address. I've run into a host who does not offer these scripts, recommending
instead that I use FrontPage's built-in form webbot. The set-up went fine,
but I would like to deliver the form results to multiple email addresses,
and I cannot find any documentation on this issue. When I edit the form
properties, is it acceptable to enter multiple email addresses, separated by
a semi-colon, something like..... (e-mail address removed); (e-mail address removed). .....?
Thanks for your help,
Whit

there is a solution posted here on the ng...look back a few days...maybe a week, you should find it.

The form handler can send to one email address at a time.

However, you can trick it into using the same data to fill out two forms at
once.

Do this:

Take your form page, do a "Save As" and give it a new name (so you have two
identical files).

In the first one, put in the first email addres. Make the confirmation page
of the first form the second form.

In the second form, put in the second email address. Make the confirmation
page normal (as you had originally).

Repeat the process for as many email addresses you want. (I have only done
two though...)

The form handler "flies up it's own butt" and resubmits the data the user
submitted to itself, only using the "what to do with data" of the second
form.

The user at the browser never sees the second form, as it is never loaded
(all happens on the server). You can use the same method to hide the email
address you send the form to from bots that search to find spam victims.

Just a quick note to say thanks for the feedback. Sparky, I gotta admit that
ingenius workaround scared me off. I guess I should have done it from the
start, but I ended up setting up another email alias with the host, which
allowed me to forward the alias to two different existing emails. Seems a
sloppy way to do it, but it worked. Thanks again. Whit

Actually using the mail server to forward, is the best and easiest solution.
