form looks different

here is a trivial question; I was surprised to see on one desktop only that
a form looks different. in particular fields that should have background
color/shading are completely white/transparent...

am certain the user has not modified their FE....

one of the moments where you say "umm...haven't seen that one before"...pc
is older, (all users are Access03) wild guess that there is a system value
that over rides Access's value...clearly the resolution is different because
all the controls seem bigger but was surprised to see no background color
since it is intended to help highlight important fields...

foreground/font colors are the same...only the background colors aren't
there...

not a make or break by any stretch...just my never ending wonder of new
things found..... should someone know why would be interested....

I had the same problem on an old Win NT server that didn't support 16-32 bit
colors. The graphics card wasn't capable of displaying more than 256 colors
at 800 x 600. Check the display settings of the computer and see if they
can be set higher.

that sounds about right....probably have a background shade that isn't
understood or capable by their old graphics card....would make sense...

(1) Is it possible that particular user has changed the Windows color theme?
There are values that, instead of defining a color, refer to particular
items in the Windows color theme. (2) There are also, as someone has said,
variations in graphics cards and monitors. (3) Another thing to check,
would be to go to the manufacturer's site for that machine's graphics card
and make certain you have the most recent driver.

Windows Color Theme ?? ....really ?? have never heard of that - - but then
I'm not into the OS at all so that is no surprise....

while not this user per se; she is techno phobic...but it is an old desktop
PC that has been around awhile and somewhere along the way the color theme
could have been altered I suppose.... thanks for the input. between this
and the graphics card I'm pretty sure it is one or the other....just one of
those "well haven't seen that one" moments....
