Form hides table when designing

In Access 2007 designing new forms, when I open a table to look at the
contents of the table, it hides behind the form I have open, so that I have
to minimize the form to see the table. Is there an option to have the last
item opened move to the top of any other open items?

This is not for the production copy for the users - it's my design copy.
I'm looking at the form and see something that requires me to look at a
table. I open the table and it opens BEHIND the form. Even if I click on
part of it that I can see it does not come to the forefront. I have to
minimize the form when I want to see the form and the table at the same
time.

I'm not sure what the problem is then.

In Access 2007, if I open a form in normal view by double clicking on
it in the Navigation pane, and then double click on a table (or query
or whatever) the new object opens on top of the open form and I can
edit the table data, etc. This is with the form's Pop Up property set
to No.

If the Pop Up property of the form is set to Yes, then when I double
click a table it opens behind the form and I have to minimize the form
to be able to edit the table data. This sounds like the problem you
are having.

If you definitely have the Pop Up property set to No then perhaps it
is something to do with the method you are using to open the form.

You were right. I was using a sample form from MS and didn't realize it was
set to popup. I have changed that as you suggested and now it works the way
I want.
Thanks
