Hi

In Form design View(access 2007) I can see a grid of lines in the background
that are used to help position controls etc.
In some books i've seen, this grid seems to show up as being more
"zoomed-in?" (for want of a better word) and it also shows small dots inside
the rows of lines. I think this would be easier for me when trying to line up
objects but I don't know how to change from my current view to this one?
To be honest it's driving me crazy
Any help very much appreciated.

Hi

This view actually depends on what "Measurement System" your PC is set to
use - not an Access setting.

Go into Control Panel - Regional Options / Settings
Then choose the Numbers tab
There is a drop down box labelled "Measurement System"

Choose Metric or US

US gives the "more zoomed in" look with dots.

Other Access ways to help align controls...

Use snap to grid - on the format menu

Align several controls at once - select the controls (drag mouse over all or
use shift select to pick one by one) - right click - choose align then top,
left, right etc

Hi Andy
Changed the setting from Metric to US as you suggested and it works great.
Many thanks
