I did a dopey thing - set, then forgot the password. Is
there any way to circumvent this and get into the db
without the password? Thanks.

user - I'm on a networked machine at work and don't know
the administrator password for my desktop - don't know if
I can get it. I created the db from my personal logon.

Ok let's get the facts.

Is the database on the network or on your own machine?

Did you make the database?

Is the database password protected or was MS Access Security set up?

If this is a network based machine, that you did not create, then go to
the person who did and they should be able to tell you the password or blank
yours out so you can enter a new one.

I created the db and set the password for the database in
MS Access security under Tools menu. No one else knows
what it was. The db is shared to a network drive, but I
don't think that affects my situation. You're suggesting
there is a way to blank out the password - how?

Thank you for following up.

If it is just a Database Password, there are a number of programs available
that will crack it. Check on www.cnet.com. Another route is with an
emergency service. On my website, in the Links section
(http://www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/linksemergency.html) there are several
listed. Mostly they talk about corrupt databases, but they may also be able
to help with security problems. It would be worth a shot.
