forgot login password and user id

good morning,

I am running Win XP Pro on my Desktop Compaq Presario. The
thing is when I was redecorating, I was not using the pc
and have since forgotten the logon and password and would
like to know how to reset it? i have tried pressing ALt-
Ctrl-Delete at startup and it just hangs up?


Please advise on this matter and how to make the Password
fixit disk.
