Forggotten Password

Hi,
My friend forgot windows XP password of her Sony PC-PCV-RS410. I tried
to login the administrator account in the safe mode, but couldn't. It
seems that Sony removed this feature. There is no Administrator login.
Does any one know how to reset XP password without having to delete
every thing? Thanks.

One of those links should cover it, seeing as you have no admin account
(odd???) then it could be a bit of a problem... Perhaps a repair
installation is another option if need be?

To get to the Administrator login, press F8 before XP boots,
to get the menu.

Not possible.

There is no Administrator login.

Yes, there is, actually. The built-in Administrator account *cannot*
be deleted, so it's there. Ask your friend if she renamed it.

Thanks all for your inputs.
It looks like there is only one account which is the Admin, and which
was renamed (in both safe and normal modes, only a single account
shows). I might have to install win XP in a new location.

The poor girl had not used windows password before, until a couple
weeks ago. A friend of hers advised to set up a password. She used some
thing funny and easy to remember like her name loves money, still ended
up forgeting.

Again thank you all for your help.
