Forests or trees?

Hi all,

I am designing a solution for a mutlicopany complex and will provide them
with Windows 2000 AD services. The companies will have their own domains and
will share the same storage solution on the LAN. What is the best (and most
secure) way to implement this? Make a forest called "CENTRE" and all the
companies as trees or make every company a separate forest? (again reminder
that this needs to be very secure while sharing the same hardware!)

Many thanks,

G.

If you are set on sharing hardware. I'd use VMware and give each company
it's own DC. A halfway decent switch would allow you to setup a separate
VLAN for each company and each DC in VMWare could be assigned to the
corresponding VLAN.

There is no easy way to architect multiple companies in the same forest and
have them not see each other. The design and configuration costs would
quickly exceed the cost of separate server installations of W2K.
