Forcing partition

Majki Majk

One volume on HDD i.e. one partition. Need repartition without losing
data or doing changes to operating system XP which is now installed.

Would like to install W2000server onto another partition.

Problem: making a partition on already adjusted volume

Q: How to force to make a partition on a HDD(volume) on which OS is
already installed ?

Q:after W2000s installation, what could i expect from booting options,
will boot options show automatic or?

Much appreciated.

This is accomplished with third-party repartitioning software. Some of
the better known examples include, alphabetically, BootIt NG (from
Terabyte Unlimited), Disk Director (from Acronis) and Partition Magic
(from Symantec.) A visit to either of these programs' websites will give
a more detailed explanation of what they can do.

Repartitioning a hard disk is safe, but it is a complex maneuver. You
should prepare thoroughly before you attempt to repartition, and always
make a backup copy of your hard disk before you start.

I seconded Leonard method in this!
You will need a third-party tool to do this for you.
Image your HDD before attempting this procedure just in case somethinmg goes
wrong so you can restore from the image you created.
