forcing me to "rename" everything I click on

My laptop keyboard got wet but it is all dried out now and I am using
an external keyboard until I install the replacement that I've just
received. But, something really weird is going on.

Every time that I click on any folder or mail folder the system is
trying to force me to rename that object. So, I can't open any mail
folders, even using the pull-down menus. It's almost like it thinks I
have double-clicked. When I pull up a folder, everything even looks
greyed out and the folder name in the address bar is "selected". But
now I am composing this message and I cannot double-click or drag-and-
select. But, everything works normally in Notepad.

The amount of liquid that got on the keyboard was tiny and I blew it
out with compressed air, sprayed it with alcohol, put it in a bag with
silica get for 2 days. Unfortunately, I turned it on once before I
realized how dumb that was. The disk and the rest of the underside of
the laptop never looked wet.

I don't know if I have a windows problem or a hardware problem. Any
advice??

Thanks!

Sounds like hardware.

Hi,

Have you tried popping open the laptop keyboard and looking for junk
in/under there? It's possible some litter got washed up under a key and
now the key presure pad under the buttons is stuck down/on.

Hmmmm let's see now.

Everything was OK until my I let my engine crankcase run out of oil.

Now my car won't run because the engine won't start.

I wonder if it is my ignition system or the engine?
