Try and extract the drivers from the actual setup installer, then go through
Device Manager and right clicking on the device, and selecting "Update
driver"

Right!

I posted a while ago that there is no installer included in the package from
Nvidia. It states such right in the readme file on their website..

They tell you to do an .inf install from device manager.

Unzip "all" of the files to a temp folder. Then using device manager, update
your video driver. Point to the folder where you saved the extracted files.
The updater will then install the video drivers.

I'm having what I think is the same problem. I'm confused by your using the
term "unzip," as what I download is simply an executable, and not zipped to
begin with. Of course, you can run this and get a lot of files out of it,
then point the update driver program in that direction, but that's what I've
been doing, to no avail.

Any thoughts?

It is basically an executable zip file. If you were to use an honest to god
zip program such as Winzip, or a good file manager program that includes
zipping capabilities (such as Total Commander), you would be able to unzip
the executable to a temp folder and install the drivers.

You just have to point the device manager "driver update" to the temp folder
you created and the drivers "will" install.

My version of 88.61 is an application and not a zip file and I just ran the
application and it automatically installed the drivers-I do think that I had
turned off the UAC at that point of installing drivers and programs and then
turned it back on after everything was installed. Previous versions I just
did the update drivers and it worked from browsing the correct folder for the
..inf file-I keep all applications and programs on another partition so each
install of beta is easy for me. The .inf file in 87.45 is the nv_disp setup
information file when it is unzipped to folder.
