Force user to Logon screen Windows XP Pro

Hi,
Is there a way to force a user to the Logon screen at a specific time?
I normally control my children's access to the computer by passwording their
accounts with a password known only to their parents. This requires them to
have an adult log them on. I combine this with a return to the welcome
screen after a resume from screensaver. However, I would like the option to
have the computer force their session to the logon screen at a specific time
during the evening. I know that the third party software "AccessBoss" can
force a log off. But my kids often download large game demos, so I don't
want to interrupt a download with a log off. Instead I would like to boot
them to the logon screen, which would in effect limit their access while
allowing the session to remain active in the background - like user
switching. I guess in essence I would like the user to have to retype their
password at a specified time - like 8 pm. In addition, is there a way to
force the same logon password after a period of activity - like 2 hours?
Thanks in advance,
Greg

Hello . I wasn't sure it is possible so I search the web for it . Doug Knox
is Microsoft-MVP and he is pretty good . He has made some tool which you can
download from his site . Please , read this

In addition , download and install (and use) Microsoft's Shared Access tool

I would look at third party software like Net Nanny or Cyber Sitter to see
what their capabilities are. I believe they both offer free trial downloads.
You can not have a user logged of and continue to download files. You also
may want to look at third party logoff screensavers that may offer options
to lock the computer on a schedule. The computer can be configured to lock
the session that will require a password to access again but user activity
continues in the background. You also could try using the AT command or a
Scheduled Task to lock the computer on schedule using the free PsShutdown
utility from SysInternals that uses the -l switch to lock the computer. If
you try using the AT command and it does not work try using the /interactive
switch. --- Steve

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;313565 --- using
the AT command.
