Hi,

I need to upgrade my 98 pc to XP Pro and bought a full
version.. I need to know if there is a way to upgrade
with this cd.. I only get the full installation option..
I bought the cd months ago and now can't return it. Any
help would be appreciated.. Thanks

Marie,

If this is a Full RETAIL version (big blue box - hologram CD in a 3 fold out
sleeve etc) then you should have the upgrade option.
If this is a full OEM CD then you can only perform a clean install

If you have the "full" retail version, you can do an upgrade install. If you
have the "full" OEM, you can only do a clean install.

Apparently you acquired an "OEM Version" of Windows XP Professional.
OEM versions cannot upgrade an existing Windows installation. Only
"retail versions" can upgrade. Either purchase a retail version of XP Pro
or reformat your drive to install the OEM version "clean".
