Hello everybody,

i'm a newbie in a windows server system, i have a question that want to ask

Is it possible to force a new joined computer to be a member of an
Organizational Unit ?
So that someone who have an account in a domain can join a new computer,
but those computer will be automaticaly linked with Group policy

Thanks In Advance,
Agus Setiawan

when you join a computer for which not account exists in AD a new
account will be created in the Computers container. You can however
pre-create the computer account in the OU you want and then join the
computer.
To force the creation of a computer account in a certain OU when the
account has not been pre-created you can use NETDOM and specify the OU
where you want to create the computer account.

Haggy,

You can also look into a network installation where you use a network boot
disk ( like Bart's Modular Boot disk ) and an 'answer file'. You simply
have to provide the OU in which you would like the computer account object
to reside in that answer file. That might be a solution......

I am assuming that you are in a WIN2000 Active Directory environment. And
that you are trying to install either WIN2000 Pro or WINXP Pro.
