Hi , i am running Server 2000 with AD. By default if i join a Computer to the
domain it will automatically Place the PC in Computers. Now that i have
created a separate OU for Computers , how do i redirect my newly joined
domain PCs to my preferred OU ?

Please Help/Advise.
Thanking you in Advance

This feature isn't available in 2000, but it is in 2003.

One way is to use a network boot disk and do an unattended installation. In
the answer file you can dictate in which "container" the computer account
object will be created. That is a nice thing! However, it does require
additional 'stuff'! Like knowing how to do an unattended installation and
like having a network boot disk ( like Bart's modular boot disk!!!! ) and
knowing how to create and 'populate' the answer file.

As Paul stated, in WIN2000 there is no way to do this 'natively'. However,
in WIN2003 - as Paul stated - there is a way. There are two utilities that
you would use - one for the computer account objects and one for the user
account objects.

when you join a computer for which not account exists in AD a new
account will be created in the Computers container. You can however
pre-create the computer account in the OU you want and then join the
computer.
To force the creation of a computer account in a certain OU when the
account has not been pre-created you can use NETDOM and specify the OU
where you want to create the computer account.
