Force Delay write to portable disk (Iomega)

How do I force a delay write to a portable drive. I try the "safely Remove
Hardware" icon. It continuely respond "Cannot be stopped right now, try
again later". If I go ahead and remove it, later I get a XP error that a
delayed write failed.

Turn off the write-behind in options. Then you won't need the removal
tool either to disconnect it. You may have indexing, AV, all sorts of
things trying to run on the drive in the background.
