For Kelly!

Hello Kelly,

I applied the XP reg tweak file from
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm line 76 on the right that says
Auto End Task to Enable a Proper Shutdown.

I would like to REVERSE the effect of this tweak so that I will have the
default values again. How should I go about doing this?
I think this tweak created a problem of XP loosing the quicklaunch tollbars
and other toolbars when my computer crashes.

This did not happen before. I mean the pc did freeze and crash from time to
time but the toolbars were there when I restarted.
But now they dont reappear.

Here is the reg file code:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory
Management]
"ClearPageFileAtShutdown"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop]
"AutoEndTasks"="1"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control]
"WaitToKillServiceTimeout"="1000"

Thanks

I was not sure that was the problem so I did a system restore 2 days back,
and the problem is fixed.

Hi Kenny,

Don't see how it could have been related but would 'really' be curious in
knowing what is/was. If you are in the testing mood, could you apply the
edit again and test for me? BTW, to reverse the edits, change the first two
from 1 to 0 and don't worry about the last one.

Increase the WaitToKillServiceTimeout to 2000

That maybe the problem. Try it.
The autoend task has nothing to do with that problem.
