I have a chart (that I created in word) that I copied and pasted into a
another word document that I am making into a manual. I need the footers
changed into the manual to make the page numbers different. Now, I have tried
unmarking the "link to previous" but that doesnt work and I am guessing
because the chart I initially created was one big chart on seperate pages, no
page breaks in between. I have tried to insert page breaks, but it will not
let me. I need those footers to have different page numbers, what is the
easiest way to go about this without having to re-do the whole chart (8
pages) just to add page breaks so I can have different page numbers in the
footer? Thanks!

You can't change the header/footer without inserting section breaks (except
by taking advantage of the three headers/footers you can have in any given
section); see http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/HeaderFooter.htm.
