I have a couple of fontviewer prgs, that can show which fonts I have
installed on my system, and compare them to find similar fonts, BUT
what I would like, is a viewer that can see which fonts different prgs
has installed, and whether is safe to delete them?

The Font Thing:

will do this. Select a font name on the list, then left click on the
"Font Info" tab. Copyright and-or trademark data should point out which
program installed the font. As for whether or not it's a good idea to
uninstall it, all you have to do is to temporarily move the font out of
the "Fonts" folder to another location. If removing it causes problems,
move it back.
