I have a desktop PC that runs Windows XP Pro. When I open the Garamond font,
it shows as version 1.0.

I tried copying that file to a USB stick, and opened that file from a laptop
that is running Windows XP Pro. Opening that font from the laptop shows as
version 2.35.

I tried deleting the existing Garamond font from the laptop, and copied the
file from the USB stick to the laptop. When I then open the font from the
laptop, it shows as version 2.30.

How is this happening? Can I get the version 1.0 font installed on the
laptop?

My XP Pro SP2 install shows 2.30 as the Gara.ttf file version.
