Fonts missing!

Turned on my computer today and noted about half of the
word on toolbars and pull down's were no longer in English
but "computer symbols." Also noted font file was empty and
reloading did not fix the problem. McAfee found no
virues, nor did additional scans for viruses from their
Website. Running WIN XP,home on a Dell.

Can not find solution to problem yet but still looking.

First, try a System Restore. This may help. Second, try running the
System File Checker to replace damaged or missing system files by going
to Start>Run and typing "sfc /scannow". Note that there is a space
between "sfc" and "/scannow". If that doesn't work, there are other,
more involved, methods, so post back. Be sure to tell us what you
already tried.
