Fonts change Color

My email font color is navy blue. I compose in Plain Text. Whenever I
insert anything ( a link) the fonts after that are black. The only way to
get them all the same color is to toggle between Plain Text and Rich Text.
Is there another way to keep the fonts the same color?

Version of Outlook? Word or Outlook as the e-mail editor?
Note that all formatting will be wiped out anyway.

Outlook 2003

Use Microsoft Word 2003 to edit messages.

Is there a way to get around having to toggle every time I insert a link?

It doesn't happen for me. The only thing that changes fonts is the URL
because it gets converted to a link. Are you working with Office Service
Pack 1 installed? Do you copy or type the URL?

No, I don't have the service pack installed. Do you think that will help?

I copy and paste the URL. But then, everything I type after the link is
inserted is black. Everything before the link is blue.

I just unchecked the option to have Word 2003 be the editor and the problem
disappeared!
