Font size of X in right corner of explorer?

Call me paranoid, but the X in the right corner of my Windows Explorer,
Internet Explorer and other programs seems a little larger than what I see
from jpg's on the net.

Could it just be my monitor settings and the dpi/font I've chosen?

Here's what it looks like (the bottom is Windows Explorer and the top x is
IE):

This is what the occasional virus and spyware will do to a guy!

Looks normal to me, after looking at your JPG my X was bigger

Did you look closely right into the centre of the X? There's a lens in
there. Looks like you've got a rogue animated Gif file with a spycamera
hidden in the middle.
If I were you, I'd get some duct tape and stick it over the X and put a
stop to it's games. You don't know who might be looking at you.
