font registration problem

I have a user here who is trying to register additional
fonts on her new XP workstation. We have gone through
the normal procedures, but she keeps getting a 'font in
use' error message. I have looked at both MS Knowledge
Base and MS Technet to no avail. Any ideas?

How is she trying to install the new fonts? New fonts are installed
by going to Control Panel, Fonts, click on File, Install new font.

Is she doing that? Is she providing the correct path to the new
font?

Also - you might try having her boot to Safe Mode and install the new
fonts from there.
